Barn ChicksBarn Chicks!!!

Meet Kernel Kluck!  He is the newest member of Barn Chicks.  He is sitting at the shop entrance, eager to welcome you to the club!  Barn Chicks meets on the second Wednesday of each month, 5:30-8:00.  In Barn Chicks, we don’t make chicken quilts, instead we focus on Buggy Barn quilts!  Yes, those unique, funky quilts that some of us really dig and others find very puzzling to make.  Every 3 months, we try to choose a new Buggy Barn quilt to make.  Initially we tried to make the same, but the group has evolved and we now do our own quilts.  You can choose the same as others, or go your own way.  You will get lots of help with the projects you choose, as sometimes they can be daunting!  Sometimes we choose one fabric to include.  Other times, members will choose one fabric for the group.   Although we only choose a new quilt every 3 months, we meet each month to discuss the process, the product, what works, and what doesn’t.  In August, we hope to have a one day “Front Porch” quilt show at Silver Thimble, featuring our Buggy Barn quilts.  If you love those Buggy Barns, but find the process puzzling, this group is for you.  If you love those Buggy Barns and find the process easy, this group is for you!  Annual membership $15.  Stop in and sign up!  Be sure to bring any Buggy Barn books you may have to the meeting.  New members welcome! The group meets the second Wednesday of each month, from 5:30-8:00.  Kernel Kluck loves those barn chicks!

The UFO Club!

Yes, we’ve finally done it!  We have developed a group for those of you who need a quilt intervention!  Are you drowning in UFOs?  Do you have more UFOs than you can (or care to) count?  We’ve heard some of your stories - some even have more than 100 UFOs!  Are you finding that you do not enjoy quilting as much because you have so many partially finished projects?  Then this group is for you.  We can’t tell you a lot about how it will go or how many you will get done.  We CAN tell you that you will get NO pressure to buy fabric - NO pressure to buy tools!  NO pressure to start new things.  The only encouragement you will get from us is to finish some of those things you already have going.  If you need help and don’t know where to turn, turn toward us.

The UFO Club meets the 2nd Monday of each month, from 5:00-8:00 PM.  Annual fee, $15. New members welcome any time, so stop in and sign up soon or call to tell us you are coming!
